    1. Shave off about 1cm of the bark on the tip of the miswak
    2. Moisten the tip of the miswak with your mouth
    3. Use your teeth to separate the bristles until a brush is formed
    4. You may start brushing your teethe using the miswak in an up and down motion
    5. Let the miswak dry first before putting it back in the tube
    6. When the smell of the miswak changes after a few days, cut off the tip and repeat the steps
